Hilton

The conference hotel is the Hilton Hotel in Sedona, Arizona. We have reserved a room block of 75 rooms, 30 of which are suites for the SoCG. The negotiated room rate is $139 for a single or a double room per night, plus $10 for each additional person. It is possible for 3-4 people to comfortably stay in one hotel suite, which makes the option of room sharing a very economical possibility. With 4 people sharing one suite the price per person is only $40.00 per night. If you would like to share a room make sure that you reserve a suite (and not just a single room). As a courtesy to other participants who would like to share a suite we would appreciate if you would only book a suite if you plan on using the living room as a second bedroom.

You can reserve a room online, which is the recommended way to reserve a room. There are certain limitations with the online system though; if you don't get the rates you think you should get online, you need to call the hotel directly at +1-928-284-4040 or +1-877-273-3762. However, if you call make sure to speak with an in-house reservation agent (in the hotel, not in a national Hilton call-center), and make sure to mention SoCG'06. The hotel should give you the rates quoted above, even for rooms outside the reserved room block as long as they have the comparable room type available. If you speek to an in-house reservation agent they can verify this in the contract we have with them. If you have any problems with the rates, please call the Hilton in-house reservation agents (from 8am-5pm Arizona time), and if you still have problems please contact the organizers at socg06@cs.arizona.edu.

Please reserve early -- we only have 30 reserved suites and 45 reserved regular rooms. The deadline for hotel reservations at the negotiated conference rate is May 4th.

Each suite has a bedroom (with one king bed or two queen beds), a living room (with one couch), and a bathroom. The entrance door to the suite is in the living room. There is a door between the living room and the bedroom, and the bathroom has two doors (one to either room). The couch converts into a comfortable queen bed. There is the option to add a roll-in bed to the living room, however this bed is not quite as comfortable as the other beds, and space gets a little cramped with a roll-in bed and the couch being converted into a queen bed.
